who we are

The Podere Selvapiana farm is located on the hills of the Teramo hinterland, in the beautiful valley of the River Fino.

Since the early 1970s, the D'Alonzo brothers decided to turn it into a very special reality that blends together the rural tradition that has been present for decades on the territory to study and research on new methods of agricultural cultivation, of problems arising from a consumerism that industry has imposed on us

The will of the company to regenerate a true relationship between man and nature translates into the production of ancient cereals, which have always belonged to Abruzzo's agri-food heritage and are limited then with the advent of the intensive systems of modern industry; so Podere Selvapiana aims to re-evaluate, according to the needs of modern society, these types of grain through a natural cultivation system, using the soil rotation method (allowing soil fertility restoration, reducing CO2 consumption) without use pesticides and chemical fertilizers, for the production of pasta and flour.

  • an alternative style of nutrition that makes us understand how far our ability to act in compliance with the ecosystem we live in may be;
  • the true Made in Italy and bring it back to the identity value that it belongs, rejecting the exploitative economy and poor quality production that often hide behind a label;
  • a short chain system ranging from seed selection to eco-sustainable farming (with respect to natural cultivation cycles) and craftsmanship (through long leavening and processing processes) to the final healthy and nutritious product.

<< [...] man is not only what he eats, if he can access food [...] man is what he consumes >>

(Grani Antichi, G. Bindi, Terra Nuova Edizioni, 2016)

All depends on how we decide to consume because consumers have a key role, the freedom to choose what to buy starting from the food, which is often too little aware, bearing in mind that our millennia feed revolves around an element prince, the wheat in the fullness of his seed.

We hope to be able to sow well in order to contribute to the construction of a better world, an ideal and feasible condition where man and the product of his work are not linked by the pure economic interest but artisers of the quality of life, our destiny and how many will naturally come after us.

The recovery of our past as a basis to building our future

through a new alliance between those who produce and who consumes

This is our bet!
